Michael and I went to Austin to see the Baronsmen re-enact Shakespeare's classic "Taming of the Shrew." It was a beautiful, crisp Fall night and the setting couldn't have been any more realistic. Except for the snack table of pre-packaged goodies (read: cotton candy!) and availability of cold soft drinks, it felt like we were in jolly old England!
Here are a few shots of the Curtain Theatre and the play itself:
The next day, we were off to a neighborhood coffee joint - where else would we be on a Sunday morning? There, we were privy to a conversation between a worldly homosexual man and his blind date - a recently divorced, recently "out," father of two. Ah, Austin!!
We also were lucky to find some local art work right next to the counter where we placed our drink orders:
Jamie and Cam (the newly engaged J and C!) joined us for a cup o' joe at Genuine Joe's:
All in all, it was a wonderful trip. Another "strange" hotel room, another "new favorite" store (Zinger's!), and another pocketful of memories.
